FNW traces its roots to Familian Northwest, established in Portland, Oregon in 1969. In the late ‘70's, some industrious sales associates, responding to a demand from the pulp and paper industry, developed the first all-cast stainless steel knife gate valve in the country. From this product, the FNW Valve brand was born and FNW was established in 1979.

In 1981, FNW acquired a valve actuation, modification, fabrication and repair facility. This acquisition exemplifies FNW Valve's ideology to "do what other vendors will not," by maintaining a facility geared toward customer's custom requirements.

Since these beginnings, customer demand required that FNW expand into other products such as Ball, Butterfly, Gate, Globe, and Check valves. Even today, we continue to add additional products to our offering such as flexible connectors, gauges, and hangers.
