Position:
Application Engineer/Technical Support, Oil sands Support Team

Location:
Summit Valve & Controls Inc., 5304 - 68 Ave, Edmonton, AB

Duties:

• Work with sales team to prepare competitive bid packages for major projects
• Review and interpret customer specifications
• Prepare Technical bid packages to meet customer specifications and secure new business
• Provide technical support on Summit products
• Aid and guide customers with specifying products and selecting appropriate solutions for difficult technical problems
• Work with both end users and engineering firms on valve and automation needs
• Review QC requirements and understand customer specifications
• Support Oil sands and sales team to execute projects and provide technical guidance

Qualifications and Skills

• University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or Technical Diploma in a related field
• Experience in the valve, automation or industrial supply industries would be an asset
• Experience in the oil sands industry would be an asset
• Proven Microsoft Office skills with strong emphasis on Excel
• Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers
• Detail oriented

Project Assistant (Edmonton)

Position:
Project Assistant, Oil sands Support Team

Location:
Summit Valve & Controls Inc., 5304 - 68 Ave, Edmonton, AB
 
Duties:

• Support Oil Sands major projects management team
• Manage project schedules and expedite deliverables with supplier, customers and team members
• Aid with document control and organization of technical and QC documentation
• Prepare and manage progress billing for major customers
• Enter orders into the accounting system and prepare purchase orders for suppliers
• Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma; Post secondary diploma in a business, account or project management related field would be preferred
• Accounting and/or project experience would be an asset
• Experience in the valve, automation or industrial supply industries would be an asset
• Experience in the oil sands industry would be an asset
• Proven Microsoft Office skills with strong emphasis on Excel
• Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
