What's New?

When Conditions Collide 💥

High ΔP water service usually calls for an intricate anti-cavitation trim. High ΔP slurry applications usually call for the opposite: open flow paths, no tight passages, and nothing that plugs or erodes quickly.

But some applications demand both!

That is where Special Alloy Fabricators fits a very specific niche. In this application, the total pressure drop is managed in stages, with an upstream RocketPlate taking part of the drop and the SlurryFlo control valve handling the rest. This multi-stage approach helps mitigate cavitation while still delivering excellent solids-handling performance.

The valve shown here is throttling mature fine tailings with 36% fine solids at a total ΔP of about 700 kPa. After two years in service, the valve trim showed very little wear. Summit’s service team replaced the soft goods and sent it back for another run.
