On active duty since 2003, this Yokogawa Vortex Flow Meter is one of 12 units that were sent to Summit for refurbishment.
Our service team inspected the bodies, meters, and vortex shedder bars. We then disassembled the units, tested the electronics and sensors, cleaned all components, and installed new bars and gaskets.
After successfully completing a bench test, the ‘like new’ assemblies were sent back into service (diluted bitumen), where they’ll keep on ticking for another 20 years.
Fun Fact: Yokogawa produces the only flow meter with replaceable vortex shedder bars. We enjoyed giving all this metal a second life, and not a trip to the scrap yard :)
