In 2018, Summit and our sister company, @Special Alloy Fabricators, joined a fundraising effort led by Expand Hope to build a new school in rural Guatemala.
Our company’s owner pledged to match every contribution at a 4:1 ratio. United by this goal, our team raised more than $40,000, enabling the construction of a three-classroom school that opened in 2019.
Supporting communities is part of who we are. Now, five years after the doors opened, the community remains strong, healthy, and full of learning, benefiting from the ongoing impact of the Expand Hope school.
During our recent visit (April 2024), the school was thriving. When we asked community leaders how they maintained such high standards, they explained, “We focus on our similarities, and we treat every child as if they were our own.”
Our hope is that this school continues to provide children with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to pursue brighter futures. After all, today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders. 📚
