After a wet year across the Prairies, there’s more runoff to manage and less room for guesswork.
Control structures like this move water where it is needed, reduce flood risk, and maintain levels in lakes, rivers, and reservoirs. Summit is working with the customer to upgrade their system in two phases:
Phase 1: The slide gates were automated with Rotork electric actuators, replacing handwheels and drill packs with reliable push-button control.
Phase 2: Now underway, a PLC is being added for remote monitoring and control, paving the way for similar upgrades across the region.
A smarter way to manage water, without always needing boots at the gate.
