For an underground water reservoir level-control application, a mining customer required more than just a control valve with electric actuation.
They needed the valve to move to a defined fail position if power was lost.
Summit recommended and supplied a Bray S19 control valve paired with a Rotork IQT-FS actuator. The actuator’s internal battery backup provides stored power during a mains power failure, allowing the valve to move to a pre-configured fail position rather than simply stopping where it is. In this case, that meant fail-close.
This is the kind of built-in backup a critical application requires.
