At an Alberta pulp and paper mill, a Black Liquor concentration system has been integrated into a broader decarbonization/carbon-reduction initiative aimed at lowering energy consumption and emissions without disrupting production.
For isolation duty, the project selected butterfly valves from Bray International, Inc. With the proper materials and configuration, these valves can deliver bubble-tight shutoff in critical applications.
This project is currently processing about 20% of the plant’s black liquor, helping to reduce energy use and emissions. Summit is proud to support projects like this, where field performance supports sustainability targets.
