During a recent site visit, our team was asked to diagnose an isolation problem on a Warm Lime Softener tank used in SAGD water treatment. The plant’s existing knife gate valves spent most of their time in the open position, which allowed scale to accumulate. When it came time to isolate the pressure safety equipment for servicing, the valves wouldn’t seal! 😬
